August - Scenes from Stillwater - Week 1

It's that time of year again!
We donned our orange, packed our tailgate, and headed north to Stillwater.
The boys sat with my parents so we got to hang out with this sweet little cheerleader who did NOT remember this crazy place from last year! She was so excited, and confused and then excited again. She sure did love when Bullet came out though!

The earlier game time meant post-game tailgating. We ended up staying super late with dinner at Eskimo Joes with Brian and Jess and a late night stroll around campus and through the library. Good thing G caught a late afternoon snooze on Joan's lap!

The Ducks game was on and I got to give my kids their first Joe's cheese fries experience! They loved the cups!

My sweet friend Jess and I giving the guns.
It was such a fun opening day!

July - Independence Day Weekend!

We continued the tradition and headed to the lake with The McCaslins for 4th of July. With their 3 boys added to the mix, it was A TON of fun! :) We spent the whole weekend fishin', boatin', beachin', eatin', fireworkin', chattin', and playin'. Just perfect.

This is the boys on the way TO the lake. Already beat! :)

I don't think I took a single pic but Ash did her duty and sent me lots of good ones. Here they are in random order:

*Mealtime with SIX kids SIX and under! :)

*Boat naps are the best naps.

Me showin' the kids just how awesome I really am. Yes, I can tube standing up. Can't you? :)

An all-time favorite pic.

The whole slew of boys went fishing.

And then the dads cooked them up for us!

Ok, scratch that...Maybe this is my all-time favorite pic.

Cute suit top on...and then off. :)

My dear ol' friend Ash. Friends since we were like 12 years old playing tennis against each other. :)

Dock fishin' (above) and tube ridin' (below)!

TOE-PICK. :)

Us girls had to stick together. Last known pic of that cool 1980s hat I'm wearing. It flew off on our boat ride home and sunk to the bottom of the lake. :(

Campfire, s'mores, and fireworks!

The lakehouse is fun too! Esp. that dreamy porch. Aaaahhh.

Why do I think he is such a stud?

Sunglasses!

I love these annual trips to the lake with Ash and Zach and their growing boys. Especially now since we moved to Seminole and we don't get together as often as we used to, they mean even more to me. It was so much fun watching the boys play and seeing how much the twins have grown!!! Next year will probably be even more crazy!

May - Great Wolf Lodge

We are so lucky to have some really great friends. And even more lucky that those great friends have kids that are really great friends to our kids. The Cosseys are one example of this luck. They have Case who is Ben's age and Cole who is Desi's age. It works out well. :)

The last weekend in May, the Cossey's invited us to join them at Great Wolf Lodge in Dallas. It was out of this world fun.

The boys were excited to be with their friends, but they didn't really know what to expect. I told G. we were going somewhere special and she picked out this precious dress and hat that her Grandma Mary had made her. She was ready to impress!

We were ready bright and early on Saturday morning for the Cossey caravan.

It was a quick 3 hour drive and the kids were great. The walk in to the resort was mind-blowing. We had no idea what to expect and it blew us away. We were checked in and ready to play in a flash!

Because it's a waterpark and we were having a blast, I didn't get too many pics that day. But we were partying it up! The place is fantastic and I really recommend it. There was enough to keep all ages entertained from G. to us adults! We drank, ate, slid and swam all day until the park closed! We ended the night with some ice cream for the boys and came back to find these two passed out!

These boys have so much fun together!!!

On Sunday it was more of the same...FUN! We spent a little more time in the outside part of the park and we were able to stay and play until about 4 p.m.

We all had a complete blast and really would love to go back!

May - Memorial Day Weekend

This was by far the most fun lake summer ever. Beginning with Memorial Day weekend we were able to go to the lake nearly every single weekend until August! We missed one weekend because we went to Great Wolf Lodge and then we missed one weekend because Brad's mama was here. With a semi-mild summer heat wise, it was amazing to be able to head down every Friday and enjoy a few days on the water. Most weekends we brought friends. Memorial Day we were there with Papa and Gaga and we started things off right!

When we weren't digging in the sand or playing in the water, we were watching BIG12 baseball with Papa or porch-sitting with Gaga. It was absolutely perfect.
