December - Basketball begins!

After Christmas, I spent the next week completely tackling my house and organizing room by room, closets, drawers, nooks, crannies and all. I was excited for the new year. 2014 was amazing but this time around I was looking forward and excited for what was to come! I wanted to head into 2015 with a clear head and apparently clear closets too. :)
As the year was ending, we were beginning another adventure as well...Basketball!
Ben had so much fun last year playing in the local church league so we were back at it, this time with TWO little ballers.
Brad coached Ben's team, the Super Sonics. Ben was teamed up with Maverick and Izzy again (!) and two buddies from his class, Sam and Nathan. He was excited!
Des was on the SKY with several of his little friends, Nate and Cole, and our friend Jaycie was coaching.
It was a perfect set up!

We had our first practice the weekend after Christmas. It was exciting...and a little hilarious. :)

And the mighty SUPER SONICS:

I don't think the boys could think of a better way to end a pretty perfect year!

SSC under the lights

Our little town does this amazing light display around the walking path next to our Wellness Center. Last year was the premiere and this year they more than doubled the number of lights. With over 100 displays of lights it is a sight to see. Then to add to the celebration they have nightly festivities that include trailer rides, free crafts and hot cocoas, live music and more. It's one of our favorite things to do during the holidays! We made it out for one of the first hosted nights to help represent for SSC. The kids had a blast making crafts, eating cookies, and running into friends!

Children's Museum

We've made two trips to the Children's Museum this month with our Tiger friends. It is pretty famous and rightly so. Our little town is so lucky to have such an amazing place for children to learn and play. I hadn't been since I was pregnant with g. and it wore me out so badly that I'd feared going back. But Carrie convinced me and we actually went 2 weeks in a row! It's kind of a bad time to visit right now though with all the schools taking end of year trips. Our second visit we were separated by the crowds and neither of us lasted longer than an hour with all the craziness. The kids love it though, so we will be back soon. If you ever come visit us, we might even take you there! :)

Christmas Parade

Last week was the Seminole Main Street Christmas Parade!

We had my parents and Matt&Candy&Brooks over before hand for some hamburger steaks, hot-buttered rums and pumpkin cheesecake before we headed to Papa's office to watch the floats, catch the candy and see Santa atop the fire engine!

It may have been in the 60s but we pretended it was cold and had a blast! As the parade started Des got a little pouty because he "wanted to sit by Santa" during the parade but he quickly got over it as he heard the marching band start playing. The boys filled their pockets with candy, waved and shouted Merry Christmas to everyone that drove past and screamed to Santa as he drove by, "We'll be in California on Christmas Santa!"

Lunch in the park

Monday I was still down in the dumps because our anniversary vacation getaway was over...and I had to get out of the rental. I grabbed the kiddos, headed to subway to grab some sandwiches and texted my hubbie to meet us at the park for lunch.

It was only 88* so sitting in the shade was the perfect remedy. The boys ran around, sis and I snuggled on a blanket and once Brad arrived it was just perfect!

Then Brad took us back to work with him so we could meet a few of his coworkers and see his OFFICE! He's big time!

Splash pad

We took our first trip to the splash pad in Seminole when Grandma Mary was here visiting. The boys had been to them before in OKC and we could not be happier that there is one here in our small town. We have been many, many times since trying to beat the terribly high temps we've had this summer. In fact, without the nice spray of the water, being outside is pretty much impossible! Sometimes all of us go, but usually I stay home with the baby and brad takes the boys for some necessary "outdoors time." They love it.

Magician's helper.

Our first Tuesday in Seminole they were having a magician at the library. Brad was working at the house so I decided to take the kiddos. It started out rough when we pulled in to the library and Des started freaking out screaming, "this is NOT MY library!" It was terrible. But once we got in, he calmed down and enjoyed the show. And then Ben was called upon to assist with a trick! It was fun and the next day there were even pics in the paper and you could see Ben in the crowd!

And then, he even made the PAPER!!!
